Hardingstone Village SignThis is the official Website of Hardingstone Parish Council which has been designed and constructed to provide what we hope will be a valuable resource of information to all residents of the village and a way to find out more about what is happening within the Council and the wider Hardingstone community.

Hardingstone is a village of approximately 2000 people located on the outskirts of Northampton, in Northamptonshire. Our rich history spans thousands of years. A mention in the Domesday book of Hardingestrop for instance; Roman coins and coffin pins unearthed in Hardingstone Lane; the Rev James Hervey, the philosopher was born in the village in 1714; the Bouverie Family; Alfred Arthur Rouse was hanged at Bedford Prison in 1931 for murder after a body was discovered in the village, to name but a few.

The village church, St Edmund’sThe village church, St Edmund’s, dates from the thirteenth century, with the lower part of the tower possibly from an earlier time. The first priest recorded here was in post in 1223!

There are a large number of clubs and activities held in various community venues including pre-school, WI, Hardingstone Players and Camera Club and many more!

The M1 motorway (J15) is 3 miles south of the village, going south to London and north to Leicester, Nottingham and the north and also Birmingham via the M6. The nearest railway station is in Northampton giving mainline access north to Birmingham and south to Milton Keynes and London.

Fete activity pictureIt is hoped that this website will enable members of our community to keep in contact with activities of both the Council and other societies within the village.

If you wish to have any information about your organisation's activities displayed on this site, please let the Parish Clerk, Wendy Dunkley have details.
